An Introduction to Global Warming

Global warming means the increase in the Earth’s average temperature since the middle twentieth century. The increase of greenhouse gases like water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone are the main causes of global warming. The main source of greenhouse gases is the burning of fossil fuels leading to the emission of carbon dioxide. The sources of carbon dioxide emissions in the air are various like power plants, cars, airplanes, and buildings. When the Earth becomes warmer there will be changes in rainfall patterns, rises in the sea level, and different impacts on plants, humans and animals.

I believe that this issue is very serious and dangerous. I think it requires all the concern from public, governments and all related sectors like education and media. This is because it influences all the livings on the Earth from different perspectives. It would affect the water amounts and it could lead to natural disasters .For example, some countries suffer from flooding and others from water shortage. Moreover, it could affect human health like what happened in Europe in 2003 when a heat wave killed 35,000 people.
I encourage all people to act to help in controlling this issue. There is simple advice that could help in reducing the amount of greenhouse gases. We can decrease the use of electricity, plant several trees at the house or work, and reduce using machines that release carbon dioxide like freezers and cars.
In conclusion, global warming is serious problem that all people in the earth must act about this matter immediately.
